While remaining very faithful to the play of Molière, Jérôme Deschamps proposes a reinterpretation of the earthy of the le Bourgeois Gentilhomme . This comedy-ballet holds a special role in the career of the director, who recalls having seen it for the first time at the Comédie-Française with Louis Seigner in the role of Monsieur Jourdain. “It scarred me when I was young, and sparked my passion for the theatre”. Louis XIV had ordered to Molière the comedy-ballet of mockery of mores in turkey, following the affront of an emissary of the ottoman in whose honour the king had organized a lavish reception.
