For weeks, the teams of the Festival Ravel, the third edition opens Sunday, are on a war footing. And for good reason. In addition to the ambitious programming, a delegation, comprised mainly of the local choir Oldarra, the pianist Jean-François Heisser (co-director of the event) and the violinist Renaud Capuçon, should play this 25 August the formal meal of the G7 at the Palace Hotel! On the menu? Basque songs-traditional, Gypsy Ravel, sonata of Debussy, the Meditation from Thais Massenet’s… so Many masterpieces to the glory of “the spirit of French musical: this mixture of curiosity, boldness, and refinement that characterizes Ravel, and that can be found in the filiation which connects Berlioz Maunoury,” says Heisser.
