The board has been carried out with China ink on paper. It was made by Hergé at the time of the transition to the color and the overhaul in the 62 pages of Tintin’s adventures. This change forced Hergé to revise the format of its planks, which were now to be of rectangular format in four strips. But, careful, Hergé keeps track of the old format to the Italian in three strips for a possible publication in a daily newspaper abroad. Franquin, Moebius and Uderzo
Among the other parts of Hergé put to the auction is an invitation card, indian ink and watercolor, completed in 1968 to mark the 20th anniversary of the journal Tintin . Edited to only 100 copies and signed by the hand of Hergé, the invitation (estimated to be between 25,000 and 35,000 euros) represents Tintin dressed in various costumes.
Artcurial also offers the sale of a birthday card signed by the artist for the 70 years of Per Carlsen, the editor of the scandinavian of the adventures of Tintin. A board-original indian ink and gouache, made and signed by Jean-Claude Mézières for the cover of the Hostages of the Ultralum , the 16th album of the adventures of Valérian, is estimated to be between 25,000 and 35,000 euros. A total of 229 lots will be auctioned during this sale.
