Bellingcat considered questionable testimony of three witnesses in the case of MH17

The journalists of Bellingcat is considered doubtful testimony of three witnesses in the case of MH17, calling them “dishonest sources”. Earlier, on 22 and 23 June was held a court session on the case against four people accused of involvement in the MH17 crash. In these meetings, the defence filed the motion for additional investigation. Lawyers represent only one of the accused Russians Oleg Pulatova — because the rest (Igor Girkin (Shooters), Sergey Dubinsky and Leonid Kharchenko) decided not to participate in the process. In Bellingcat indicate that protection petitioned for carrying out of additional investigation to those aspects where, in their opinion, there is no important evidence of innocence of the defendants. This, according to journalists, are likely to overwhelm the resources of the investigation and, consequently, delayed the verdict in the case. More resources of investigation should be a requirement of protection to the Joint investigative group (SSG) found and interviewed more than a dozen witnesses who claim to have seen or heard one or more Ukrainian warplanes attacked MH17, journalists of Bellingcat. Despite the fact that objective data indicate the impossibility of the scenario “air-air”, SSG still held a questioning several possible witnesses associated with the investigation and came to the conclusion that none of them could provide a plausible eyewitness testimony, which could jeopardize the data of objective control, point at Bellingcat. So, the first “witness” was presented as “the teacher of foreign languages” Valentine’s day. According to the woman, she personally saw Ukrainian military aircraft circled in the air above the Snow, and then allegedly heard a loud explosion. Then, she added, saw fell from the sky the wreckage of MH17. As found in the Bellingcat, we are talking about a resident of the town of Torez in DanbaCCE Valentina Chaika. Thus, even before the beginning of the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine a woman really taught foreign languages, but later became a journalist and, in his own words, took on the mission of improving the image of the self-proclaimed Donetsk national Republic in the world. Investigators also pointed out that her words contradict earlier statements that she saw on July 17, 2014. For example, in an interview with 2017, a Russian online TV channel she described the events of 17 July 2014, however, then claimed that they had seen military aircraft. Another witness, journalists have appeared in various media under the names “Leo Bulatov” and “Gleb Filatov” and told the story about how using half of the Soviet pair of binoculars with a seven fold increase seen the time of the attack, including the launch and subsequent flight of Ukrainian “Drying”. Moreover, he argued that even dismantled a number of military aircraft on the tail. Some of his statements are also contradictory. In one interview he stated that he saw not one, but three su-25 flying near MH17, whereas in the interview, which led defense, he says he saw only one su-25. The third witness — his name was not disclosed — had refused own words from interviews, shown protection. In personal correspondence, he said Bellingcat under the entry: “July 17, 2014 I didn’t see any military aircraft, and no aircraft.” Earlier in an interview with British blogger Graham Phillips he said he saw military planes. We will remind, the plane, flying flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down over Donetsk region 17 July 2014. On Board were 298 people, none survived. According to the findings of the international investigation team JIT, by a missile fired from “Buka”, stationed in the district of Kursk, the airliner was shot down militia DND. The Russian side rejects whenparticular to disaster. Recently it became known that the study of all materials of the case about the collapse of the Malaysian Boeing may take more time than originally planned. The public Prosecutor’s office proposed a trial to February—March 2021, and not in the autumn of this year.
