The closing Ceremony is dead, long live the “Last Session”. In a press release issued Monday, 6 may, the Festival de Cannes has announced that it has renamed the last evening of the festivities as the film of Peter Bogdanovich and the song of Eddy Mitchel. The reason for this? He wants to “reconnect with its tradition of ultimate great projection, with the image of memorable evenings which have been shown E. T., the extraterrestrial of Steven Spielberg (in the old Palace, in 1982), Thelma and Louise Ridley Scott (again in 1991) or the Don Quixote of Terry Gilliam last year.”

This is a duo of film directors very much appreciated by the French public, which will dry up the plaster on the 25th of may next: Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. The filmmakers of the Untouchables and the Meaning of the feast shall come up the steps of the Palais des Festivals, alongside Vincent Cassel and Reda Kateb to present nonstandard , their new movie. The pitch? Bruno and Malik lived for 20 years in another world, that of children and adolescents with autism. Within their two respective associations, they are forming young people from difficult neighborhoods in which to frame these cases classified as “hyper-complex”. An alliance is out of the ordinary to personalities outside the norm. With this film, viewers should find all the keys to the success of the tandem of filmmakers, to find humor and humanity.

“Like the characters, the viewer is immersed in these associations, with these families, the doctors, the volunteers, the interns, these heroes of the solidarity and love of others,” said Pierre Lescure, President of the Festival.
