Almost 190 thousand residents of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s Republic received Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. Comments about this TASS said the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Victor Vodolatsky.
“today received passports 187 240 residents of the people’s republics. In the pipeline are about 98 thousand . … Until the end of the year, the Russian passport will get another 600-800 thousand inhabitants of the Republic”, — said the Deputy.
According to Vodolatsky, in the near future in the passport and visa service for registration of passports will be hundreds of thousands of people “who are now just waiting for the end of the quarantine.”
President of Russia Vladimir Putin on 24 April 2019 signed a decree allowing the people LNR and DNR to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
