Estonia has accused the government of Belarus in contempt of the people

the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid stated that the last presidential elections in Belarus cannot be considered neither fair nor free, nor democratic.

According to her, the reaction of the Belarusian authorities to spread in the country, the protests once again shows their contempt for the people, and the violence against peaceful protesters must be stopped.

“what happened last Sunday in Belarus, what has preceded and what is happening now, shows disrespect to the rights of the people of Belarus”, – quotes its Agency BNS.

Kaljulaid urged the EU to develop a coherent policy in this situation and to appoint a special representative for dialogue between the Belarusian authorities and the opposition.

Earlier, foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius said that the “credibility” of the results of voting show covering the whole of Belarus protests.
