Ex-Prime Minister of Belarus condemned the actions of the security forces and reminded about the freedom of speech

the Former Premier of Belarus Sergei Rumas said the actions of security forces against participants of the protests in the country.

In his message on the social network Instagram Rumas expressed condolences to the victims and their families and has called the actions of Riot police is unacceptable. The politician stressed that the mass detention violate the rights and freedoms of the protesters, and recalled that freedom of speech and right to protest is enshrined in the Constitution.

Rumas also said that all those responsible for the violence should be punished.

Sergei Rumas was appointed the Prime Minister of the country from August 2018 to June 2020.

Recall that in Belarus a week are mass protests against the results of voting in the presidential election that took place on August 9, and against violence by the security forces. The peaceful rally in Minsk led to a hard detention, beating protesters and security forces attacks on passersby and cars. After the protest became public and spread throughout the country, large enterprises are strikes. On Sunday in a rally of opponents of President Alyaksandr Lukashenka held in Minsk, attended by several hundred thousand people.
