Experts: Record of expenses of Russians on food returned to dekorativny level

The share of expenses of Russians for the purchase of products in June decreased to 36% of their total expenses, which corresponds to March. This is stated in the study conducted by the holding “ROMIR”. Experts notice that the increase in spending on food (Food Index) returned dekorativny level mode of self-isolation associated with the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, was introduced in Moscow on March 30, and in Moscow — from March 29. The company noted that the value of the Food Index declined after two months of “record values”. For example, in may it amounted to about 46%, that is, the products accounted for nearly half of all expenditures of Russians (26 thousand RUB from 56,8 thousand rubles spent by the average family). In June, the volume of spending on food declined from an average family to 21.1 thousand rubles, while total costs increased to 58.3 thousand. Experts point out that the dynamics are influenced by several factors: removal of part of quarantine measures, pent-up demand, which further contributed to additional output (12 and 24 June). According to the researchers, the buyers had the time and the desire, and the need to purchase goods, access to which they have been deprived for some time. Reducing the cost of products is due to the exit from the isolation in which people were eaten more than usual.
