An open letter, attributed to the actor Gérard Lanvin and containing about virulent against Emmanuel Macron, and the government, amounted to more than 250,000 shares on Facebook in less than 48 hours. On Tuesday, the publication has been removed from the social network.
The actor is not the author. Furious with the false attribution of the text, Gérard Lanvin has filed a complaint with the parquet de Paris. “I have just been made aware of the existence of a letter to a political trend, circulating on the internet and signed my name. Those who know me and who know therefore my political independence have immediately understood that it was not my kind of attitude, or my writing style,” said the actor. “I démens this possibility completely, and, on my honour, asserts that this letter and its comments are not from me”, he added. He had been a victim of identity theft when the same text – except that it was François Hollande and the government Ayrault, had been circulated on the Internet in 2013.
