French scientists: the Coronavirus affects the kidneys

According to the researchers, the kidney injury indicates increased loss of protein, phosphate and glucose in the urine of patients. The virus infects the cells of the renal tubular system. The kidneys suffer as a whole in 80% of cases COVID-19, experts say.

They warn that this effect carries serious consequences, including decreased bone density due to the loss of phosphates, the occurrence of bone pain, and increased blood acidity. In addition, patients may experience frequent urination, dehydration, increased thirst and physical weakness due to the loss of cellular energy.
