Japanese automotive company Nissan plans to curtail the number of foreign manufactures, including the Assembly of Datsun in Russia.
in addition, the company is going to “come out” from South Korea to streamline operations in the markets in ASEAN (Association of South-East Asia), reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to published today the program of transformation and sustainable growth of the company until 2023.
“We focus on the production of basic models. At the end of 2023 discontinue production of older models. We will stop production of Datsun in Russia. Thereby reduce the number of models in our portfolio from 69 to less than 55” — quoted by “Kommersant” a Nissan statement.
As reminds the edition, the Assembly of Datsun is conducted on the basis of Lada models at the facilities of “AVTOVAZ” and Nissan has a plant in St. Petersburg.
