Gone from the life of a ballerina, honored artist of the RSFSR Svetlana Efremova. She died June 19 at the age of 73 after a long illness. Parting with her will be held tomorrow, June 23. At 13:00 in the hospital of Peter the Great starts the funeral service, burial at 15:00 at the Smolensk cemetery, the press service of the Mikhailovsky theatre. Add that Svetlana Efremova danced on the stage of the Mariinsky theatre, which was formerly called the Theatre of Opera and ballet, the Kirov, but a significant part of her pedagogical career is connected with the Mikhailovsky theatre. “The audience of the Theater. S. M. Kirov (today Mariinsky) 1960-1990’s will remember the radiant dance of Svetlana Efremova. For more than 25 years she graced his performances. The audience always captivated stage presence of a ballerina, the ability to fill the touching warmth to any ensemble. And professionals and strict ballet lovers appreciated the flawless form of academicism her dance… Leading ballerina of the theatre, she became one of those who determined the face of the Kirov ballet generation 1970-1980’s. Her image in the memory of grateful spectators, and the name Svetlana Efremova will remain forever among the stars of the Leningrad ballet. The Mariinsky theatre expresses its sincere condolences to the family”, — stated in the message of the Mariinsky theatre. “Colleagues, friends, pupils Svetlana Efremova emotional pain was met by the sad news of her untimely death, — said the press service of the Mikhailovsky theatre. — A serious illness with which she had long bravely fought was stronger.
