ILO: the end of the year will remain nearly 340 million people worldwide

By the end of 2020, about 340 million people worldwide could lose their jobs. This is stated in the report of the International labour organization (ILO).

Experts point out that this is the worst scenario, which is possible, if again throughout quarantine due to the coronavirus. At the same time under the baseline scenario, amid a revival in economic activity, without work will remain around 140 million people. And if demand recovers quickly, then realizes a positive Outlook and a reduction will be 34 million people.

According to the ILO, in the second quarter of this year, work has already lost 400 million people worldwide, which exceeded earlier projections by 10.7%.

Earlier, in late June, the Minister of economic development Maxim Reshetnikov mills reported that in Russia because of a pandemic remained without work for 15 million people, 680 million of them have been cut.
