“Today, a foreigner who has committed serious acts is not deportable if he meets certain conditions, such as arriving on national territory before the age of 13,” said the minister.
“We want to allow the expulsion of any foreigner found guilty of a serious act by the courts, regardless of their condition of presence on the national territory”, he added.
This new provision will be integrated into the future orientation and programming law of the Ministry of the Interior (Lopmi), “presented at the start of the school year”, added the minister.
“We are ready to discuss, amend and find compromises with the LRs, the centrists and even part of the left” to have this law adopted, he continued.
The government is also prepared to “take up” in the Lopmi “a certain number of proposals such as Bruno Retailleau’s (LR) anti-breakers law”, said Mr. Darmanin again and, “in terms of immigration, to reflect on the conclusions of the excellent report” by François-Noël Buffet (LR).
