The art has once again invaded the metropolis on the occasion of the 8th edition of the Trip to Nantes. The belvedere of the star japanese Tadashi Kawamata, one can see the Loire and the city in which he has disseminated his sculptures-nests. Place Graslin, Malachi Farrell has disposed his robots policies and theaters animated and wacky Pierrick Sorin have taken possession of eight hotels in nantes. Among these many works, the three facilities are part of a common theme: memory. It is related to the historical ruins of Nantes, the industrial past of the city or to the memory of the migrants who are the contemporary history.

At the bend of the street of the Aldermen, Flora Moscovici fell nose to nose on a auguste fireplace nestled in the side wall. Claire Stool – The spirit of the seas and men
in The Shed, bananas, remnant architectural of the past colonial and industrial city, Clear Stool has installed its banners. It is of sail boats, a metaphor that allows him to connect across the oceans to Los Angeles, where she resides, and Nantes. One day, the irish photographer goes to an armory of English and bought a thermal imaging camera, a piece of equipment used on the grounds of conflict able to detect the heat of a human body at more than 30 km. The watchful eye of the photographer can see the graphic potential of which is held in a major project. Incoming, to lead with the cinematographer Trevor Tweeten four years, is a journey in total immersion among the migrants from Afghanistan, the Sahel, central Africa and Syria. Around this project, Richard Mosse presents panoramic photographs of big format: the Heat Maps captured in Greece, Lebanon and Germany. They are composed of thousands of small pictures put together. We discovered the camp of Tempelhof in Berlin, the heart of the nazi architecture has become an amusement park, which today welcomes migrants. In the midst of these landscapes to apocalyptic, the spectators find themselves in the position of voyeurs inactive, public of a horror that happens to our doors.
