the Tragedy occurred this morning in the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region. As reported in the regional press service of the emergencies Ministry, in krem’yanka river drowned an elderly man and woman.
Local residents have suggested that the victims lacked the strength to swim to shore because of strong currents. Pensioners tried to help the woman, but to save them failed.
“the Water rose very strong current, but on the river we see kids without adults! Or small children go with the senior. This is very ill!” — write in social networks, the neighbors of the victims.
“Their bodies were found,” — said in the MOE.
Earlier, the Ministry reported that two weeks of warm weather in the waters of the North-West drowned 33 people, 10 of them children. Rescuers are asked to observe safety measures while swimming.
