As the press service of the government of the state marine patrol is investigating the incident that occurred near the island of Bailey. According to the witness, the woman was swimming off the coast when it was attacked by a shark. Nearby kayakers brought the victim to shore, but rescuers had recorded the death.
According to local publication the Portland Press Herald, still in Maine was recorded only one case of shark attack on humans.
