North Korean leader Kim Jong UN said that the development of nuclear weapons in the country are to “permanently provide security.”
According to Kim, nuclear weapons will allow the DPRK to defend itself from “pressure high intensity and military threats from the imperialist and hostile forces,” reports the North Korean state agenstvo KCNA.
Speaking at the national gathering of veterans of the Korean war, Kim Jong-UN stressed that “the pressure from the imperialists” increases and nuclear deterrence required for protection.
Such a statement, the North Korean leader made against the backdrop of stalled negotiations between the US and the DPRK about denuclearization.
