“The campaign prints little, despite the important stakes represented by these elections”, notes the polling institute in its study.
In addition, nearly two thirds of respondents (64%) want Emmanuel Macron “not to have the majority and that there is cohabitation”. A figure that reaches 76% among 25-34 year olds.
More than half of the French people questioned (57%) are nevertheless convinced that the President of the Republic will obtain a majority – but “this prognosis of victory is not massive”, since 42% of respondents doubt it, nuance BVA.
Moreover, 57% of respondents do not want Elisabeth Borne to remain Prime Minister after the elections.
However, only 31% of respondents are in favor of Jean-Luc Mélenchon occupying the position. “No opponent emerges naturally,” notes the pollster.
A sign of the national stakes of the election, 53% of respondents say they are “above all” attentive to the “program” of their deputy, rather than to his “local presence” (17%).
Moreover, only 40% of the French people questioned know the name of the MP for their constituency.
This survey was carried out according to the quota method from May 31 to June 2, with a sample of 1,002 French people questioned by internet and representative of the French population, aged 18 and over. The margin of error is between 1.4 and 3.1%.
