Around 6:30 p.m., the leader of the RN deputies Marine Le Pen and the interim president of the party Jordan Bardella, surrounded by several dozen deputies, MEPs and regional advisers from Ile-de-France, gathered in front of the building “in tribute to Lola and in support of her family and loved ones”.
“The whole French nation was terribly shocked by this barbaric assassination” and “it is the right and the duty of the national representation to ask the government what it intends to do so that such acts do not happen again”, declared Ms. Le Pen during a press briefing.
“We are witnessing the crime too many, the one that now forces us to effective action,” she added, refuting any desire for recovery.
“A minute of silence is never a political recovery, it’s a tribute, something that I think will be felt by Lola’s loved ones and family as a sharing of their pain,” she said.
This tribute was held in parallel with another rally organized in Place Denfert-Rochereau by the “Institute for Justice”, a reputable association close to Eric Zemmour, where several leaders of Reconquest were expected!
Mrs. Le Pen explained that she had dissociated herself from this second gathering because “as it appeared” that it “was moving away from the tone that we wanted to give to this tribute”.
The main suspect in Lola’s murder, Dahbia B., a 24-year-old Algerian, was indicted on Monday for “murder” and “aggravated rape” and then imprisoned. She entered France legally in 2016 with a student residence permit, but had been subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) since August.
