Media: Germany has sent to Russia of 600 tons of nuclear waste

To Russia from Germany sent a new batch of nuclear waste, writes DW. According to environmentalists, in the Leningrad region will arrive 600 tons of radioactive waste from the plant’s uranium enrichment.

As reports the edition with reference to the organization Ecodefense, freight train moved on June 22 from the city of Gronau. 12 wagons sent to the Ural electrochemical plant in Novouralsk. Another part of the containers will be taken to Amsterdam and there will be loaded on a ship, which in early July will deliver the goods to the port of Ust-Luga.

According to estimates of ecologists, in Russia from the beginning of 2020 have transported more than 3 thousand tons of nuclear waste. The last batch of 600 tons of waste came from Germany on June 15.
