The jury Medici has removed six novels in French on the fifteen that were included in his first selection. Nine authors are still in the running for the Award which will be handed out on 8 November, among which Santiago H. Amigorena (P. O. L.), which is also in the running for the Goncourt, the Renaudot, and December, and the three authors of first novels, Victor, Jestin (Flammarion), Kevin Lambert (The New Attila), Guillaume Lavenant (Shores). One thing is for sure, the Gallimard editions only come away with not the Medici this year. P. O. L. and Flammarion, however, have two novels in the selection.

In the novel category foreign, eight authors will remain selected, which of the heavyweights of world literature, the Romanian Mircea Cartarescu (with Solenoid) , the American Joyce Carol Oates (A book of martyrs in the us), the Irish Edna O’brien (Girl), the Spaniard Manuel Vilas (Ordesa) .
Fourteen books are finally in the selection of the prix Médicis Essay. A list that is a joyful patchwork of multiple talents. Editions Verdier, three times cited, compete in a good place.
