She expressed hope that the presidency of Germany in the EU “will provide an opportunity for a new impulse in relations with Russia.” To cooperate with Russia, for example, on the situation in Syria and Libya, the economy, health and the environment, stated Merkel.
Recall,the EU and Ukraine and the United States first imposed economic sanctions against Moscow in 2014 after the annexation of Crimea to Russia and the outbreak of hostilities in the Donbass.
