the Moscow city court behind closed doors will decide the fate of complaints against the decision on arrest of the adviser of the head of the Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin and former journalist Ivan Safronov accused of treason. It is reported by RIA “Novosti” with reference to press Secretary of the court Uliana Solopova.
According to her, students and journalists will only allow up to the announcement of the decision.
As reported TASS with reference to lawyer Ivan Pavlov, more than 20 heads and representatives of the media and public figures wrote a personal guarantee for Safronova.
He said that among them is the former Deputy editor of “Kommersant” Gleb Cherkasov, the chief editor of “Novaya Gazeta” Dmitry Muratov, the former publisher of “Vedomosti” Demyan Kudryavtsev, Director of the personnel Department of “Roskosmos” Vladimir Matveichuk, the chief editor of “Vedomosti” Andrey Shmarov, chief editor of “Kommersant” Vladimir Zhelonkin and Dean of the faculty of communication of the HSE Andrey Bystritsky.
Ivan Safronov was detained on July 7 on charges of treason. Lefortovo court of Moscow has sent him into custody until September 6. Security officials believe that the adviser Rogozin conveyed secret information about the Russian military-technical cooperation and the defense industry one of the special services of NATO.
