“At the top of the cliff, the victim wanted to take a picture and, holding out her phone, she then stumbled into the void,” a gendarme told AFP.
“She was accompanied by her husband and two other couples. The group was hiking,” said the same source.
At the beginning of January, a 24-year-old woman had also died after falling from these cliffs at the time of a photo. “She allegedly backed up accidentally, either taking a picture or having her picture taken,” the gendarmes said at the time.
In 2013, a hiker in her thirties killed herself after a fatal fall from these cliffs while photographing the site.
