Poisons of a type

In the lists of the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons (CWC) has included four new categories of chemical weapons, including dangerous chemicals of the family “Rookie”. This was announced by the permanent mission of Canada to the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons.

“Chemicals are now under the supervision of the OPCW”, — said the permanent representative, reports “Interfax”. Manufacturing more than 100 grams of these substances per year, according to the Convention, must be declared to the OPCW. While one state may own a maximum of a ton of these substances, follows from the document.

Recall that in November 2019, the conference of the States parties to the Convention endorsed the proposals of Russia and Western countries to amend the Convention list four dangerous chemicals in the family “Rookie”. The decision was a compromise, as previously Canada, USA and the Netherlands proposed to include two families of toxic substances “Beginner”, but Russia urged to add to the list of five chemicals to the family of “Beginner”. In the OPCW with Moscow did not agree, explaining that some elements of the Russian proposal did not meet the required criteria.

the poison “Beginner” world “learned” in March 2018, after the former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia was discovered unconscious in British Salisbury. London said that they were poisoned with a substance “Beginner” and the incident allegedly involved in Russia. Moscow rejected the accusations.
