Poland has raised the tariff for transit of Russian gas

the Office for energy regulation (URE) of Poland has approved the tariff for pumping gas through the Polish section of the pipeline Yamal — Europe.

“the introduction of the rate for 2021 would increase average payments for gas transportation services by 16.5% compared to the current tariff”, — is reported on the regulator’s website.

the Ministry said that the rate increase applies to companies Gaz-System (the operator of the Polish gas transmission network) and EuRoPol GAZ (the owner of the Polish section of the pipeline Yamal — Europe. Is a joint venture of Gazprom and Polish PGNiG, which owns 48% of shares).

the Rate for Gaz-System to the input of gas to the Polish gas transmission network increased by 10-13% depending on the fuel type compared with the rates in force in 2020. Rates at the exit points would increase by 0.1%. In addition, for EuRoPol GAZ, the new tariffs provide for an increase in average payments for services transit of gas with a high methane content by 16.5% compared to the current tariff. Both tariff was approved for the period from 1 January to 31 December 2021.

the validity of the long-term Russian-the Polish agreement on gas transit from Russia to Europe via the gas pipeline Yamal — Europe expired on 17 may. From this day on Russian gas deliveries by pipeline are based on the auctions conducted by Gaz-System. Thus “Gazprom” has sharply reduced the loading of the pipeline to the extent that on some days the gas is generally not pumped.
