U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said about the need to create “a new Alliance of democracies” to counter China.
In his speech, which was broadcast on the state Department website, Pompeo said that the US “can’t handle this problem alone,” and added that a joint “economic, military and diplomatic power” of the UN, NATO, the G7 and G20 would be enough to counter China’s policies.
According to Pompeo, the free world needs to influence Communist China and change it. The politician stressed that the time had come for “a new Alliance of democracies.”
