Potatoes turned out to be dangerous for hypertensive patients

People suffering from hypertension should eat less potatoes. So says British doctor-nutritionist Sarah brewer, writes Medikforum.

She explained that eating four or more servings of potatoes per week by about 11% increases the risk of hypertension compared with one serving per month. In this case we are talking about any kind of potatoes — boiled, fried, French fries, mashed potatoes.

brewer believes that potatoes should be replaced by beetroot, because it contains nitrates that helps widen blood vessels and reduce blood pressure. While cooking the beets whole is better in the skin not to lose its healing properties.
