the Bulgarian Parliament on Friday morning, sacked the five members of the Cabinet. Changes have taken place against the background of popular protests calling to dismiss the entire government, headed by Boyko Borisov and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev.
Sam Borisov, however, invited to “get away” only from the heads of the interior Ministry Mladen Marinov, Vladislav Goranov of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of economy Emil Karanikolov, Cyril Ananieva of the Ministry of health and the Ministry of tourism Nikolina Angelkova. MPs supported his proposal, writes TASS.
Marinova was replaced by Hristo Terziiski, Karanikolov — Lachezar Borisov, Angelkova — Marijana Nikolova. Deprived of the post of the Minister of health Ananyev was headed by the Ministry of Finance, and in its place came Kostadin Angelov.
Dissatisfaction with half-hearted decision of the legislative Assembly was expressed by the President of the country rumen Radev. He called on the government to resign, saying that is “on the side of the people”, and Bulgaria required the Ministers representing “an example of the rule of law and respect the Constitution.”
Radev also sided with protesters demanding the dissolution of Parliament and new General elections.
