Prime Minister of Lithuania has urged the Baltic States to withdraw from the purchase of electricity from the NPP

Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Squirrels said he intends to seek a common position of the Baltic countries to refuse to purchase electricity produced at the commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

he said this in a conversation today with colleagues from Latvia and Estonia, Delfi reports.

“Lithuania is still fundamentally seeking a common position of the Baltic countries in the issue of limiting electricity trade of unsafe power plants in third countries”, — said the Squirrels. It is noted that this position supports and Poland.

the launch of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, located 50 km from Vilnius, was scheduled for July 2020.
