Russian President Vladimir Putin paid tribute to the fallen in the great Patriotic war, laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall. This was reported on the Kremlin website.

“In the ceremony dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the great Patriotic war, was attended by war veterans, students of the Moscow Suvorov military school and the Moscow cadet corps “Boarding school of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation, — stated in the message.

Putin also laid flowers to the obelisk of the hero-cities and the memorial sign in honour of cities awarded the honorary title “City of military glory”.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that the veterans of the great Patriotic war will be watching the Victory parade on red square on 24 July, without a mask.

“Places for veterans are provided through the two chairs. And this is exactly the same distance, which will help when placing on the podium to remove the mask and watch the parade without the mask,” she said.

According to Popova, everything will be disinfected, including transportation for veterans. The driver, volunteers and accompanying relatives of veterans will be a test for the coronavirus and will be in masks and gloves.
