specialists of the state scientific center of Virology and biotechnology “Vector” of Rospotrebnadzor identified more than 100 strains of the novel coronavirus. However, the detected mutation did not lead to significant changes of its properties, assured in the CPS.
One of the tasks of a “Vector” is to track the variability of viruses to identify mutations in the early stages and to start their study. It’s important to have confidence in the correct diagnosis of the disease (modified virus may not be recognized by existing diagnostic kits) or to confirm the effectiveness of treatment of patients.
