Scientists at Columbia University in new York found a combination of antibodies that neutralize the coronavirus COVID-19, the newspaper writes MedicalXpress.
According to the study, in patients undergoing coronavirus in severe form, the immune system actively respond to infection and rapidly develop antibodies to suppress it. Scientists were able to identify different types of such antibodies and found that their blend can protect the body against the virus or help in its treatment.
an Experiment conducted on hamsters, confirmed the protective properties of the combination of antibodies. It is planned to study other animals and then on humans. If they are successful, a “cocktail” of antibodies may be used to treat those infected with coronavirus and prevent disease.
