Scientists: In may the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere reached a peak

In may of 2020, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere reached record high. This was announced by the world meteorological organization (WMO), citing National oceanic and atmospheric administration and the University of California at San Diego.

So, “carbon dioxide in the atmosphere reached in may 2020 seasonal peak in 417,1 parts per 1 million, which is the highest months ever recorded”. Compared to may of last year the concentration of carbon dioxide increased by 2.4 parts per million.

This situation “strongly influences the biodiversity and nature” and “socio-economic development and welfare of the people”, said the WMO.
