St. Petersburg book salon attracted more than a million visitors online

the Book fair in the Northern capital is held for the 15th time and for the first time because of the pandemic, it was held in an online format — from 4 to 6 June. Lectures, book presentations, discussions and round tables can be viewed on the website book-salon.online, in the group “Vkontakte” “international book salon in St. Petersburg”, as well as on the websites of TASS, “the St. Petersburg diary” and channel “Saint-Petersburg”. The total audience of each of the resources amounted to about half a million.

“the Online format is not just met our expectations, I personally realized that much underestimated the possibilities of resources, for realizing bold and interesting projects in the face of restrictions, — said Vladimir Riabovol. On our initiative responded to a lot of interesting, wonderful contemporary authors, publishing houses, which presented their new products”.

the highlight of the literary event was the plenary session online, on which the future of the book industry were discussed by President of Russian book Union Sergey Stepashin, the Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Central city public library named. V. V. Mayakovsky, Zoya Chalova, President of the editorial Board of the “library of the world club of Petersburgers” Valentina Orlova and others.

the Most popular events of the program were the lectures about fiction, speed reading, children’s books and poetry. Many visitors came to the presentation of the books “Deeper” Basil Ackerman and “Resuscitation” Matt Morgan.
