a Number of state Duma deputies will check for the presence of their foreign citizenship. Instructions to the Committee on security and combating corruption of the Commission on control over reliability of data on income and on questions of parliamentary ethics was given by the speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
As the press service of the state Duma, with the case about the foreign citizenship of the deputies or of their residence in another country made earlier by the representative of the Communist party Denis Parfenov. Information will be requested of the CEC of Russia.
As noted Volodin, according to the new provisions of the Constitution and the law on status of member of the Council of Federation and status of Deputy of the state Duma, a Deputy may not be a citizen of the Russian Federation who have foreign citizenship or residence permit in another country. If the information Parfenov on dual citizenship of some of his colleagues confirmed, will be taken “legal measures”, said the speaker.
He added that if the allegations do not find confirmation, there will be questions already to those who spread false information.
