the World court in Elista ended the criminal case against the widow of the former mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov Elena Baturina which the citizen Arentsen of Manjeev accused of libel. As reported TASS, the private Prosecutor filed an application for waiver of prosecution.
According to the lawyer Manjeev Dmitry Savochkin, the court found that Baturina had no intent to report the slander — “she probably did not understand one of his lawyers.”
According to the materials of the case, the settlement agreement concluded with several creditors, including the company Sarrio Investmens Ltd (Cyprus, the debt amounted to 3,248 billion), the company “Portal-system” (debt of 15.6 million rubles), the office of Federal tax services of the Republic of Kalmykia (debt — 18,6 million roubles), the Penza branch of Rosselkhozbank (duty — 10.3 million rubles). Total debt to creditors is about 3.3 billion rubles.
Buchanan previously held the post in the government of Kalmykia. In 2013, the verdict of the Gagarin court of Moscow, he was sentenced to seven years in prison, including for fraud in promissory notes of the Inteko company. In January 2016, the Supreme court of Kalmykia released him from custody, replacing the punishment by a fine in the amount of 300 thousand rubles.
