The Director Kirill Serebrennikov received a suspended sentence

He and the producers Yuri Itin and Alex Malopolski found guilty of especially large fraud, according to the verdict of a judge Olesya Mendeleevo.

At the same time, according to the court, a former employee of the Ministry of culture and Director of Ramtha Sophia Apfelbaum “was not aware of the criminal nature of the events, acted independently”. In this regard, the court found her guilty of negligence.

In the end, stating that the prosecution’s evidence fully confirmed the guilt of all the defendants in the case, the judge sentenced Kirill Serebrennikov, as well as two other defendants in the case to probation. According to the court, Serebrennikov, Itin, Malopolski can be corrected without real punishment. Sophia Apfelbaum fined, but released from punishment due to expiry of limitations.

Serebrennikov as an additional punishment banned to manage cultural institutions. Additionally, the court sought to Serebrennikov, itina, Malopolska 129 million rubles at the suit of the Ministry of culture.

Earlier, the Prosecutor asked for six years in a General regime colony for Director Kirill Serebrennikov, and for other defendants in the case — the timing of four to five years of imprisonment.

Recall that at the courthouse, where pass sentence Serebrennikov, were strengthened security measures: they put fences and cops.
