To use medical masks on the street makes no sense, because coronavirus is not moving through the air, told Israeli Professor of medicine David Lurie, the head of the Department of Hadassah hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem.
According to experts, the masks protect against transmission during close contact — bringing people in enclosed spaces or when working with patients, reports RIA “Novosti”.
Lurie recalled that the transmission of coronavirus is derived from person to person with prolonged contact within two metres. On the street, in a Park or in a gym with no a number of other people the virus “he is not gonna jump over,” said the medic.
At the same time, the expert added that in his opinion, prolonged wearing of masks does not lead to health problems. He reminded about the fact that in some Asian countries is a widespread culture of continuous wearing of masks in the street.
