Recall that in mid-April, the interior Ministry reported that in January—March this year, the number of IT crimes in Russia have jumped 83.9% compared to the same period last year. The proportion of cybercrime amounted to 19.9% of the total. Due to the growth of cybercrime, the crime rate in the country as a whole increased over the same period by 4%. In March, the total number of reported crimes higher than in March of last year by 4.4% mainly due to the growth of cybercrime.
