Experts of the savings Bank predict that by the end of the current year losses of the Russian economy from cybercrime is estimated at 3.5 trillion rubles. And by the end of 2021, the damages may be doubled to 7 trillion rubles. Recall that in mid-April, the interior Ministry reported that in January—March this year, the number of IT crimes in Russia have jumped 83.9% compared to the same period last year. The proportion of cybercrime amounted to 19.9% of the total. Due to the growth of cybercrime, the crime rate in the country as a whole increased over the same period by 4%. In March, the total number of reported crimes higher than in March of last year by 4.4% mainly due to the growth of cybercrime.

Previously, in early March, it became known that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation established a Department for the investigation of cybercrime. “Formed the Department for the investigation of cybercrime and crimes in the sphere of high technologies”, — stated the Chairman of the IC Alexander Bastrykin.

He cited data showing that in 2019 the number of registered Russian IT of crimes increased by 70% (294 thousand). This is 15% of all register in the country of crimes.
