The European Union has extended sanctions against Syria

the EU Sanctions against Syria extended until June 1, 2021. The decision of the EU Council, follows from the text of the statement published on the website structure.

From the sanctions list excluded two individuals and one company, “which ceased operation, subject to sanctions,” the document notes. Currently in the sanctions list included 273 people and 70 organizations.

Recall that the EU sanctions against Syria was introduced in 2011 and included a ban on oil imports from Syria, and delivery to this country of finished fuel and oil products, restrictions on investment, freezing in the EU assets of the Syrian Central Bank and an embargo on trade in dual-use technologies, as well as facilities and equipment for monitoring or blocking telephone and Internet communications.
