The government has allowed airlines to give out vouchers instead of money for cancelled flights

the Russian Government approved a decree legalizing the provision of vouchers for tickets. The corresponding document was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The decree published on the portal of legal information Tuesday.

the document notes that the airline will be able to submit a ticket (with the changed date, time and route) within three years or return the ticket price to the passenger.

“on approval of the provision on the peculiarities of the execution of the contract of passenger carriage, including the carrier’s right to unilaterally change the terms of such agreement or to refuse its execution, and the order and timing of the return paid for the air carriage fare with the threat of occurrence and (or) the occurrence of individual emergencies, the introduction of high alert or emergency in the whole territory of the Russian Federation or its part”, — stated in the decree.

Previously, the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia also proposed to legalize the right of passengers to sell vouchers for canceled flights.

meanwhile, back in the beginning of June Rospotrebnadzor has refused to negotiate prepared by the transport Ministry, the draft government decree on the legalization of vouchers, which are issued as compensation for cancelled flights instead of returning the money.
