According to him, the manifestations of coronavirus pneumonia and lung cancer can easily be confused. The physician noted that in both cases the patient has cough, sputum and shortness of breath.
In an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, the medic said that “serious complications include bilateral pneumonia (in 75% of cases), acute respiratory distress syndrome (17%) and multiple organ failure (11%)”.
Karasev added that the main goal in the treatment of lung cancer during a pandemic coronavirus is to minimize the risk of infecting the patient.
