the Secretary of defense mark Esper said that further transfer of American troops to Eastern Europe is a priority for the Department for more effective “containment of Russia”.
During a speech at the Aspen security forum Esper said that the purpose of the Pentagon is the North-Eastern area: the Baltic States and Poland.
He also recalled a recent agreement on the transfer of additional forces in Poland and the withdrawal of American troops from Germany. According to him, it has strengthened the US position in the Black sea area in Romania.
