The presidents of Ukraine and Russia discussed a settlement in the Donbass

the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky initiated a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss the situation in the Donbass.

According to the press service of the Kremlin, the leaders endorsed the agreement on ceasefire on the line of differentiation reached in the negotiations of the contact group.

Putin and Zelensky addressed the issue of mine clearing of territories in the Donbas and the opening of new checkpoints, as well as steps to release detained persons.

a Particularly hot topic was the law on the special order of local government in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and also adopted by the Rada resolution on holding the local elections.

Putin, for his part, recalled the importance of observing actions taken by the leaders of the “Normandy format”. The presidents also discussed the conditions required for the holding of the next summit in Berlin.
