Coronavirus infects cells of the nasal cavity, where body fluids gets into the deeper parts of the lungs and to the brain. To such conclusion the American scientists from North Carolina, studying the path of the virus, reconstructed the synthetic twin in the laboratory on the basis of available genetic data on Sars-CoV-2, reports the German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau.
Earlier it was believed that the coronavirus infects the tissue of the pharynx and then, in the course of the disease into the lower respiratory tract.
In the same study, the researchers examined the various cell types in the mucosa of the nose, pharynx and bronchi to set the content of the receptor ACE2. In addition, they found that antibodies found in the blood of patients after the disease of SARS, to a certain extent, can restrain the multiplication of Sars-CoV-2. Then there are people who recover from SARS or MERS, do have partial immunity against Sars-CoV-2, which contributes to a milder course of the disease, concluded the researchers.
