the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced victory of the ruling Serbian progressive party in last Sunday’s parliamentary elections.
According to Vucic, the party had “the greatest confidence of the people in the history of Serbia”. The President called the victory “impressive and convincing”, RIA “Novosti”.
According to preliminary calculations, the party Vucic gaining 63,35% of the votes, the socialist party of Serbia (SPS) foreign Minister Ivica Dacic — 10,67%, the unit heads of the municipality of Novi Beograd Alexander Epica — 2,17%. To date the processed data from 2.32% of the polling stations, the turnout made previously 59,43%.
