The United States and Russia agreed to meet in Vienna on nuclear doctrine

the Representatives of Russia and the United States will meet in Vienna to discuss nuclear doctrine and trilateral arms control. This is stated on the website of the US state Department.

a meeting of the Russian-American working group will be held from 28 to 30 July. “Officials discuss nuclear doctrine and warheads, and the transparency and verifiability in the framework of US efforts to establish a tripartite arms control”, — stated in the message.

At the end of June in Vienna also hosted the Russian-American consultations on issues of arms control. Country delegations were headed by Russian Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and the special representative of the President of the United States on arms control Marshall Billingsley. The parties discussed the extension of the Treaty on the reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms (start-3), and the problem of maintaining stability in the conditions of termination of the Agreement on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty).
